Bikes and You

This April marks the start of the MotoGP Circuit which begins on April 8th. Our Sepang round will only be possible on October 21. That will be the second last round. The MotoGP challenge are expected to climax during this round. Will KennyJr will emerged the reigning champion or will the young and vibrant Valentino Rossi create an upset? Can't wait for October!!!

That aside, things look bleak in our own backyard. Until this article is produced, there is no word on our next Cub Prix Championship. Same goes for Asia Road Racing Championship. What happen? Why is our most premier Asia Racing scene seems so quite? There is no confirmation of sponsorship, no press conference and no rumours. Problems? Is it due to another same story that "SPONSORS ARE PULLING AWAY?"

This is the factor that worries us motorsports lovers about our local racing scenes. There is too much politics and red tapes. We don't even have a next batch of international standards racers. Our development system seems to shy away from motorcycle racing. The appopriate bodies seems to continue debating on how much money can they make this year with the licensing, sanctioning, insurans and medical charges.

The youth and sports community seems more eager to promote elite sports such as skateboarding, boat sailing, go carts and x-treme sports. All these are mainly for the rich brats that could afford expensive imported equipments. Meanwhile the statistic shows that over 3 million bikes registered on the roads and there are about 40% are mainly owners ranging from 16 -25 years old. From this group, almost all of them loves motoracing. How come there's not much NGOs, government and its agencies came forward in organizing local races? Until today, we have consume so much of our brain power trying to guess why...

Dunia Moto, as the premier motorcycling magazine has been promoting motorcycle as our means of presentation, only capable of doing a small scale activities to shift the youngsters from the roads to the Batu Tiga Track for the Bike Component Test. This is all that we could managed for the time being as the media for the event that is being organized by the management of Batu Tiga Track (BTSC).

For now, this is what we can do as a small time publisher to drop the rates of motorcycle accidents, injuries and death of youth that loves motorcycle racing but has no channel to go and means to carry on the next level. There for, we are asking you out there to come to BTSC to support the activity and the development of motorcycle racing. Either you realize it or not, the purchase of a RM10 ticket is actually helping out the organizers to have BCT and to continue doing so. If there is not much support, there will be lesser rounds and activities. Same goes if it is vice versa.
